Yoga Mats
A thin slice/veneer of cork that is laminated to a stable backer and then culmination laminated onto a dimensionally stable and impact absorptive base material, before being cut into a yoga practitioner mat size (or any size needed based on the application purpose)
As described on the VCL page (_______), the veneers are cur to size and glued to the selected substrate. We have analyzed many options for the base material and found that the best base for impact absorption, slip resistance, durability, and ultimate longevity, is our eco rubber, a natural extract from the rubber plant. There are foam and other PVC bases, that are typically less expensive, but inferior and harmful to the environment. For such a grounded modality, that of yoga, we feel that sustainability, longevity, and a natural feel should trump all.
Much like veneer options that can be used in other laminated products (VCL/fabric, flooring, wall teles, etc.) you can select one of any number of veneer formulations, select colors (pigments on the natural veneer cut), or even ‘printed’ versions, enabling you to create a design or ‘messaging’ of your choice.
